These examples are drawn on little bits of paper called “tiles.” We call them tiles since you can collect them into mosaics.

I took a zentangle class at a month or so back. It was the top of the line I’ve taken since school!

I venerated the class anyway experienced a bunch of fits and starts when I endeavored to zentangle in solitude.

I adored the class however encountered a cluster of fits and begins when I attempted to zentangle all alone. First, my hand was all crampy and did not enjoy holding a pen for that long.

Then I had to do a search for the paper I wanted to use.  In the class, we used little squares, which is a common practice for zentangle.

I wasn’t comfortable with the small format size.  I think I was looking for a long-term piece, something I could return to again and again and not have to start with a new little square each time.

In zentangle, one normally uses just a black pen of the marker variety (fine point and archival ink) and a pencil.

This shading can contribute to some very fine three-D effects.

Zentangle is known to many artists and craftivists as a way to create structured designs through drawing various patterns.

Sometimes mistakenly called “Zen doodling” or “tangle doodling,”

Zen tangling or tangling is really a formalized procedure that characterizes itself as an option that is other than minor doodling due to its hypothesis and approach.

Rick Roberts and Mary Thomas are the originators of the trademarked Zentangle method. Essentially, it’s a particular method to draw pictures, regularly in dark pen on white paper.

Zentangle has become an international phenomenon that now has applications in stress reduction, education, therapy, and even motivational training.

It’s Self-Soothing.
It’s Self-Soothing.
It’s Self-Soothing.

Repetitive creative work, in and of itself, can be calming and self-soothing.

Indeed, a portion of the fundamental research on the Zentangle procedure shows that commitment in the process has quantifiable unwinding benefits.

This is especially valid in the event that you acknowledge this procedure as one with no normal result other than the happiness regarding putting the pen to paper and remaining open to whatever develops.

It’s Simple.
It’s Simple.
It’s Simple.

Zentangle art only requires a black pen and paper; you can do it just about anywhere.

I can confirm the way that any plane flight passes by more pleasurably when I am tangling.

Look for things you can tangle on like a business card, coasters and even newspapers [tangle right over the printed pages].

I have always loved created art with Zentangle designs. Zentangles are designs that include non-representative repeating patterns.

You can do zentangle designs within a larger outline or combine them together on their own with no defined outline.

What I love most about zentangle art is that it doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful.

I encouraged this very idea to my child’s second grade class when I did this simple zentangle craftsmanship for children venture.

Create some Zentangle art and you will understand why we say,

“Life is an art form and that each of us is an artist.”

these steps are

Step 01 – Gratitude and Appreciation

Get comfortable, take a few deep breaths and feel gratitude and appreciation – for this beautiful paper, for these wonderful tools, for this opportunity to create something beautiful.

Step 02 – Corner Dots

We teach beginning Zentangle Method with beautiful museum grade cotton paper, 3.5 inches (89 mm) square.

To answer a familiar question of what to put on this beautiful paper, place a light pencil dot in each corner, about a pen’s width from the edges. Now it’s no longer a blank piece of paper.

Step 03 – Border

Connect those dots with a light pencil line, straight or curvy, to create a square. This is your border.

Step 04 – String

Inside the border, draw a light pencil line or lines to make what we call a “string.” The string separates your tile into sections, in which you draw your tangles. A string can be any shape.

It may be an astonishing line that contacts the edge of the periphery from time to time, or game plan of straight lines that run beginning with one side of the edge then onto the following.

Step 05 – Tangle

A tangle is a predefined sequence of simple strokes that make up a pattern. Draw your tangles in pen inside (usually) the pencil strings and borders.

Tangle is both noun and verb. Just as you dance a dance, you tangle your tangles. Draw your tangles with deliberate strokes. Don’t worry about what it’s going to look like.

Just focus on each stroke of the pen as you make it. Trust that you’ll know what to do next when the time to do it comes.

There is no up or down to Zentangle workmanship so don’t waver to rotate your tile toward any way that is most pleasing for your hand as you draw.

Step 06 – Shade

Add shades of gray with a graphite pencil to bring contrast and dimension to your tile.

The black and white two-dimensional tangles transform through shading and appear three-dimensional.

You can likewise utilize a tortillion (a paper mixing stump) to mellow and mix the graphite.

Step 07 – Initial and Sign

This is art you created. You should sign it. Put your initials on the front (many people create a unique monogram or chop for this step).

On the back, place your name, date, comments and observations.

Step 08 – Appreciate

Hold your tile at arm’s length. Turn it this way and that. Appreciate what you just created.
